Hi guys.

They are going to stop the vehicle transport trains from Germany to Italy and France by the end of 2014.

So I took a last chance and booked the train from here to Alessandria, Italy in October.
So me, my wife and the bird are going on a 2 weeks trip to Tuscany.
Intensely looking forward....
Any advices from the forum???
Best

Thanks Tipsi.

Very good page you have. Will look it up for preparation of the trip. Funny to read your blog as well.
The motorway vid from Alessandria to Genova is fun to watch. We are going to take that road as well. First over night stop will be Lucca.
What was your favorite place or road during the trip?

Gald you found the blog entertaining, we just though it made sense to record our roamings both the long and the shorts.....anyway, there are a few places that are in our opinion 'must see's'....Assisi, beautiful hill top town very touristy but well worth a visit, Pisa, you gotta get a couple of pics but get there early or late because it gets rammed, beauty is you can park the bikes about 10 yards from the tower, San Gim, lots of towers, great piazza to eat past or Ice cream, if it works in for you grab a coffee in Todi then take the SS488 to Orvieto you'll love it, Orvieto has a stunning Duomo too.....Gubbio, bagnoregio, Bolsena are all small towns worth a visit....of course you have got Siena and Florence, both big towns worth a look......as are the Sibillini Mountains if you find yourself that way.....of course this is assuming you like the kind of thing we do !

All this reminiscing is making me incredibly jealous, time to start planning naxt years trip then !

Ride safe and enjoy your trip.
